Ive been asked how I feed my minions of spiders. I actually have my collection broke down into sections...Monday-sunday. This way I'm not overwhelmed. This is how I Feed my tarantulas.... 2nd-3rd instar... I feed these guys twice a week. I use flightless fruit flies or frozen pinhead roaches or crickets. Fruit flies are harmless so I'll give them a good shake or 5-10 in there vial. They are not very nutritious but this gets the little guys some confidence in taking down prey. No need to try to get out the extras...they die pretty quickly. I encourage all pinhead roaches and crickets be prekilled. Slings can molt at anytime....theres no signs. I've had slings molt before finishing their meal. For this reason I encourage dead kill be offered. I'll give two roaches or crickets per meal. 4th instar- 2" I feed these guys and gals live prey. I prefer large meals once a week. Two prey items are plenty. If they dont take them take it back out. I dont wait...try again the next day.
