I took a couple pics of my Emilia this morning because he is so fat. His abdomen has grown quite a bit in the last several days. He has eaten 2 pinhead crickets and a meal worm this week.

Should I not feed him so much? I have read they won't overeat but I am beginning to wonder lol

The pics aren't very clear but it was dark in the room this morning.

It's most likely premoult. They tend to get big shiny butts just before a moult

@Gscottjr It's very difficult to say how often a T will moult as there are so many things that can affect it like species, temp, humidity and feeding but at that size it can be a matter of a few weeks. I feed mine as some will eat but if it's not been eaten by next day then you need to remove the food.

that's definitely premolt. the darkened abdomen and the mottled looking mirror patch are a dead giveaway :) few weeks i'd say and he'll have new skin.

I feed my slings twice a week, wednesday and sunday, give or take a day depending. Juvies and sub-adult once a week on Sundays. But i cheated this time since i had so many to feed at once :D the juvies and sub-adult got a mid week treat.

Now on the other hand...o_O
my B emilia ate 3, Mhm three, mealworms the day I got her, just unpacked, new enclosure. She(?) then crawled into her dish and molted. So, every T is different. They dance to music only they hear and understand. My attitude is, until they are full grown, their only job in life is to grow. So I feed them :) often...
Instinct tells them to eat and grow for survival..I just help out a little.
