Hello, tonight my cat found a spider and did her best to hunt it, I usually scoop spiders up and pop them outside when I find them in my house, in my attempt to collect the spider in a glass using a coaster to seal him in for transport, I accidentally pulled off 2 legs (the 2 back legs on his left side). I've spent the last hour trying to identify the species to see if he's safe to keep and from what I've seen he seems to be a rustic wolf spider. I feel terrible for injuring the little guy and don't want to put him outside if he's not likely to survive long due to my error but I know nothing about keeping spiders. I currently have him in my leopard geckos old 20 gallon tank (my Leo is in his own 40gal nowhere near the spider) with the tank carpet, an old paper towel tube and a small cap of water. If anyone has any advice for the best course of action to make sure he lives a good life I would greatly appreciate it.
