So my Nhandu tripepii has just recently molted and im just slightly worried his burrow and bark might be too small for him now. hes just about able to crawl out of the hole and back in but im just slightly worried the T might get stuck at any moment or its hurting it. ive got photos to show the scale but im new to owning tarantulas so help would be great. should i take him out and reorganise his enclosure? for example should i add more substrate, is there any decorations you guys could recommend or like a coconut shell or any sort of hut that can give the T alot more space. Help would be much appreciated, thanks. Photos are attached.

Hi. I would do more substrate. My trepepii loves their cork bark. So maybe put half into the substrate and half out. Use plants as some clutter for extra hiding/safety. As for the substrate perhaps use something less coarse. More of a fine soil and kinda pack it down a little. Even once they grow, they still like burrowing

Yes okay thanks this helps alot. but i only have one substrate whic has loads of bark bits in it and im not even sure whats in it as i bought it just from my local pet shop where i purchased my T's. Im until clueless on what type of substrates i should buy for all of my T's so my 2 biggest are currently running the same substrate and my sling is still on the substrate it came with. the cork is kinda flat so its a bit difficult to adjust it to where the T has a bigger entrance to its burrow but im sure ill figure something out. is there any specific plants you could recommend, as all i have is the 2 fake leaves that came with the T when i bought it.

Do you have a place where you can get organic top soil? And like mentioned coco is okay too. I'm not sure where you're located but I usually just use some reptisoil. And even with a flat cork it can be angled once more substrate is added. Then you can start a makeshift burrow. You can grab any fake foliage to put in there. More coverage isn't a bad idea. Moss or leaf litter adds to the substrate and they use it to their liking

i do have coco soil i think that i had in my genics enclosure. i still have a block of it. should i mix coco with the substrate i got from the shop?

Since that one died, I would NOT use substrate from that enclosure. Use a fresh supply only.

yes im going to bin that soil. where should i dispose of the T as i dont wanna put it in the skip to spread mites or bugs or put in just in my home bin as again bugs. i have a fresh block of coco soil that i bought when i started my Tarantula hobby that i will add to my T's enclosure when i re organise it.
