...... but it's bugging me.

I have a vivarium with 8 T containers in it, all with the same substrate, identical set ups so why does only one keep growing fungi? They appear over night and always in the Ts favourite spot. You can just see todays crop in the middle container.

Maybe I'll find out if I swap containers around to see if that is the answer. It's just intriguing me as why it should be the only one.

No, I've not changed the sub yet. I hoped I'd got rid a couple of weeks ago but this one reappeared today. The container concerned is one of my Nhandu chromatus which are on top of each other and often get switched over. They were rehoused at the same time and only Zingu's is affected, never had one in Luzia's container.

It is really cute. Just pluck it out and make a special effort to make sure they get switched around maybe when you feed them?

This thread has given me a thought, buy magic spores of the mushroom variety and grow them in a T enclosure that'd be epic! Maybe @Phil could house his T.Psychs like that.... Hehe Seriously though it would be cool, right? :D
You would still only see the mushrooms......the Psychs are pet holes! saw 4 very colourful legs at the top of one of the tube webs but too late for photo. ....darted back down as soon as I got anywhere near them. Sooooo quick! ☺

Nobody wants mould in with their Ts but some people go crazy about avoiding stuff such like... Idiots! Ts live their entire lives in the wild surrounded in fungi, flies, ants etc! You haven't removed the mushroom have you Ennie? :) Keep it! :)

Not yet but I do intend to. I really don't want a forest of them in there and Zingu is staring at it as if it's disgusted at not being able to sit where it wants.

I have one enclosure that I get shrooms in also. mixed from the same batch of substrate add the ones beside it and they never have mushrooms.

I just pick them and toss them, wait a couple weeks and do it again.

I'm glad it's not just me then. That's what I've been doing but I think I'll change the substrate and see what happen then.

I have to say, I'm disappointed Enn..growing shrooms in your house! Shame! Besides, they taste nasty and they make you laugh like a lunatic and it freaks out your friends..I mean, from what I hear on tv..

Maybe that's why Zingu runs round in circles, it's tripping on shrooms :D
