I was just wondering what everyone's opinion or experience has been with having tarantulas shipped 2 day, rather than overnight? I want to take advantage of the sales going on but I'd be much better off not paying the $40 overnight charge. That's what I've always done and its getting a bit ridiculous.. And too expensive for my budget.. I know there's a few members here who've had to wait much longer than 2 days, and their spiders were ok, but its down to 40 degrees at night here now..I'm afraid to pull the trigger on 2 or possibly 3 day shipping..

where are you thinking of ordering from? I seen that jamies will pack a 72hour heat pack in with them in a insulated package... seems like that would be fine.... that's what I went for on my recent order so I am hoping it will be ok too! and she will still give LAG as well as I think 2day health guarantee but im not sure if that's true so don't quote that lol... its even colder here... she also has a map on her site that shows the areas where it will usually take 2 days and where it will most likely take 3 days+

I think its weird how they always seem to be in a trance when the package is first opened and then BAM! they snap out of it and right back into action... well at least that's what I have noticed from all the unboxing vids I have watched. I have never received a T in the mail but I think its really cool that we can haha

I was actually thinking of ordering from Jaimie's.. She's got a few I'm interested in, and I've never seen anything but positive reviews for her. I've just always ordered overnight, I think I'll go ahead and do it though..

The first T I ordered online was from Jamie with two-day and it went fine. She researches your area making sure the weather and temperature is good for shipping and will add a heatpack if needed but you should ask for one just in case. And if I'm not mistaken, she guarantees 2-day as well as overnight.

I can relate. I'm poor as hell and the shipping takes a huge bite out of my budget. That said, I generally opt for overnight both because of LAG typically requiring it and because I wouldn't forgive myself if a spider came dead and I had been cheap. I would blame myself regardless of weather or packing or whatever. I know it's usually just fine to 2-day it though.

I'm the same way, and the slings I'll be ordering are 1/4 inch..that's what has me worried. I want a few each of her E sp red and T ockertis. I'll have to wait until after work anyways, her site is freezing up on my phone:mad:

Ask yourself what is more important, saving a buck, or the animals life.
Ive always thought of it that way too. But I started paying close attention to posts and threads where spiders took as long as a week to arrive, and they were fine..and how much more dangerous is one more day in the mail? Packed by a reputable seller, with a 72 hr heat pack..I'm just starting to think I may be spending twice the money unnecessarily.

I had emailed and asked her and she assured me she didn't foresee any issues with two day for my area.
Just ask her ^^

I've had pedes and Ts shipped to myself over the course of days and they were fine. However, this was between two tropical countries. I have no experience with shipping through cold weather, although I assume it gets as cold in the plane cargo(?). They're pretty tough animals.

I've been ordering from Jamie's for years without incident (probably close to 20 orders), and I haven't had any issues (knock on wood!). She packs very well, and all but one package arrived on time. I usually opt for the more expensive FedEx overnight shipping option when I buy Ts online, but I've been using Jamie's two-day for so long that I've just stuck with it. Plus, she offers a LAG on this option, which is fantastic.

A well packed shipment can handle a couple days in transit, but why put them through unnecessary stress. I have all mine shipped to me overnight, and I wont sell to anyone unwilling to pay for overnight.
To each his own.
