@MassExodus @Arachnoclown thanks for the advice. So for a male there would be nothing there? That’s how I seem to be understanding it. I’ve been trying to research this but all the videos and text refer to females. May she’s too small to tell just yet? Her body is only an inch or two long.
I got a new enclosure for my G Pulchripes spiderling, from Jamie's Tarantulas. I have a neat little temp/hygrometer that pops into place so I cut a little square hole for it. I took all the little tabs off the screen and hot glued it into place for safety because my little guy's a climber, and...
Now as for the enclosure, if you're not too afraid of getting pretty close to them a critter keeper will work fine they are just right there when you open the lid. I kept all mine in one, I had used the same one over and over. If you want to be on the safer side get something that you can feed...
I'm going to do 2 post one on temp. One on the enclosure. Kinda depends on where you live regarding the temp\humidity the Hesperus is native here in Reno, Nevada. The humidity is pretty low when they're out and about, I've seen it as low as 9 percent. And the temp doesn't really matter as long...
I know a great deal about the L Hesperus they are very easy to keep. Just know they stink pretty bad. And as long you don't piss her of she'll leave you alone, bite wise. And you only need to feed them once a month or so. Fun to feed them different things each time as they kill and eat each prey...
I tried that at first but she'd just go to different spots all over. Get about 1/3 of an inch in and stop. And this way I can move the container out to feed or just stare in there.
So my little bugger kept trying places to burrow, but I think the clear container was putting her off. I pushed a corner of the substrate down a bit with my tongs, then put a strip of black Velcro tape on the outside. She dug out a way bigger area than I had made and just chills in there all...
I got mine Thursday, from Petco, in the same kind of container, same age I imagine. Instead of substrate it was a little sponge thing. And a bunch of uneaten crickets. She just sat all curled up by the sticker. I took off all the stickes, and I switched to cocofiber, filled like a quarter of the...
I am going to start this so I can keep record of my little guy or girl (will say she until sexed) as she grows. And to share the experience with all of you. She is a little spiderling at just over a half an in. or 2 cm. she get 2-5 flightless fruit flies 3 times a week.
I had her on a shelf in...
