    Yes when their booty gets big and shiny that is a sign of premolt. It will also turn dark. Phormictopus sp ‘Blue Azul’ 1/2” premolt.

    Ever get a Tarantula and it molts right after housing?

    I rehoused a 3” OBT and it molted 15 minutes later.

    He did not survive. No injuries that I am aware of. Ive heard of mature males molting but this is the first time I have had experience with it personally.
