    My first molt!

I picked up this little guy and an adult female last week (been crazy busy so haven't posted, though) and now I just caught this one molting, so... hoping I can sex it now.

    Question about Chilean species

I got a 2 week old ball python. She's a cutie! Since she was a normal color and not a morph, she was really cheap... but to me just as beautiful as the most expensive morph there. She was also the most active of the baby ball pythons that were there. I'll get a tarantula eventually. It's...

    Question about Chilean species

Well, there was only one vendor there with any tarantulas :( Not really any types I really wanted, either. I ended up with a snake, though :P

    Ventilation and safe materials?

Thanks so much! I've got some aquarium silicone laying around from refurbishing fish tanks, so I'll go ahead and use that! I have been having a hard time finding cork bark locally (maybe looking in the wrong places) so maybe I'll try bamboo for now... I think I can find that, at least.

    Ventilation and safe materials?

I used a hot needle to make air holes in a plastic container, but how can I tell if there are enough for proper ventilation? I don't want to suffocate it! Could anyone let me know what types of glue are safe to use? What about plastic plants? Do those need to be "pet store" plants, or...

    Piercings

I LOVE piercings (tattoos, also) but actually only have one piercing at the moment. I had several that I let close up, and would love to get more someday, but right now I'm avoiding any face piercings because I'm between jobs and want to make sure I can get hired :p Actually, I wanted to...

    Am I going crazy?

When I'm online, I can't help but have several T related tabs open... and flipping through them often. When I'm not on my computer, I'm reading my new book. I can't stop thinking of tarantulas now. I need to get work done. Help.

    Question about Chilean species

That would be so cool if that's how it is here. Looking at pictures of the last one that was here, it seems to be a lot of snakes and geckos, but maybe they just didn't take as many pictures of non-reptile creatures. I'm hoping there are more vendors coming than they list on the site...

    Question about Chilean species

You both make really good points... so far all of the ones from online dealers are either WC or not willing to give any information about ANYTHING, so it looks like I might have to go that route if I really want one. I'm seeing other WC Chilean Ts for sale online, but I'm also seeing more CBs...

    Question about Chilean species

Okay, so I've been looking for a Euathlus Sp. red (with little luck) and have learned that they're harder to find now since Chile has closed for export. My question is, if a vendor has WC E. Sp. red (or any other Chilean species) for sale, would that mean that they came from surrounding...

Hey everyone! (from the proud owner of... nothing yet)

Thank you. I think I looked at First Choice Reptiles, but was kind of turned off from them since they don't really mention what you're buying (size/age, sex if old enough to tell), and I'd rather someone with good reviews. I think the first place I saw E. sp. red was Jamie's, but they were...

Hey everyone! (from the proud owner of... nothing yet)

On my third day of internet research... At this point, I'm really hoping I can find a Euathlus sp. red somewhere online... I'm pretty set on owning one someday, at least, but maybe not for my first since all of the online vendors I've checked out seem to be out of them at the moment, so I'm...

Hey everyone! (from the proud owner of... nothing yet)

I'd been browsing Jamies for prices... wasn't sure about having them shipped in the heat, though. I might look for breeders, too. When I was hoping to find them in person, I didn't really mean I want to see the one I am buying, but more along the lines of being able to observe and compare...

Hey everyone! (from the proud owner of... nothing yet)

Thanks for the advice and recommendations! I actually really love getting recommendations, so I'm really glad to see some. I'm hoping to find some of these locally so I can see them in person... so far I've only found a few sad looking G. rosea, but I'm going to look for some herp stores in...

Hey everyone! (from the proud owner of... nothing yet)

Hey guys, my name is Erin. I've been up all night researching tarantulas, and came across this forum and have been reading it for a while now :P So far, I have a book in my amazon shopping cart (still debating if I should be environmentally friendly and get the kindle version though I love...
