Talk about having a split personality... B boehmei's are famous for that, not to mention a big hair kicker! (Most of them anyway) The Emilia's are laid back and don't kick hardly any hairs. My B pulchra is soo sweet and laid back, she never kicks any hairs at me. My smithi is very active and...
Well I don't mind this one being a slow grower because I believe it's a male. So be it, I have plenty of time to enjoy him and watch him grow. He was one of my first T's and is simply precious to me!!
I agree with @Marija. I got my 4" GBB female back on Dec 11 2016 and she stayed in her hide for a few days to only discover she was making up her a nice little mat for her to moult, in which occured I believe on Christmas Eve. Now that she has that out of the way she comes out for awhile, but...
This is what these little guys do....grow very slow and rarely eat if anything! Got mine @ 1.5" back in October 2016 and probably only ate once or twice the most... But I keep him in the feeding routine with my others, just in case he decides "what the heck" and eats.
Thanks Kymura. It's seems that so far everyone has the Emilia. I was thinking the Smithi would be more popular! I also heard that Emilia's are less likely to flick hairs. It's just that if I get the Emilia it's only .5" and I heard they are slow growers? Also with me living in Canada, the...
Thanks for replying Enn49. I have heard that Emilia's are less likely to flick hairs but are little skittish than the Smithi's. Decisions...decisions!! I already have 3 other species that are slings and it would be nice to know you have a female. But are males really all the bad or different to...
Humming! So far 11 views and no one will take the time to help out?
I thought the idea of posting a question was to get advice from other fellow spider lovers!!
PLEASE! If you have either of these species let me know your thoughts.. it is greatly appreciated.
So I am trying to weigh the pros and cons when it comes to owning Emilia's vs Smith's. What would be your opinion based on these things: * Temperament (less skittish)
* Amount of hair flicking...
Hi Edward,
Shame on whomever dumped those 2 T's. I really wish people would think before the trip act on buying reptiles and or tarantulas, especially as babies. Yes, they are so darn cute when small, but guess what!! They are gonna grow up and these T's get big (unless it's a dwarf species)...
Thanks everyone... I have made my decision to stick with the Euathlus sp.red and cyriocosmus perezmilesi... I might even consider the Ami sp Panama, but
I will read up on it more if I can find any info??
One more thing Tom!! Which T would you be OK with handling every now and then? I know you are strongly against it, but If you were to handle one which would it be (besides the Euathlus)
