It’s not much but this is the best photo I’ve been able to take of my G. pulchra in the year and half I’ve had her. She was about 1” across when I got her.
She’s really got that gloss black coat now and I think she looks beautiful. She’s been such a great T to care for. Great eater, always out...
Thanks @octanejunkie & @Josh. Both good points!
Joshx, if I use a black divider, T’s aren’t able to sense the other another way are they? I don’t want to cause them unnecessary stress.
I really like the enclosure @octanejunkie but it is too big as it is I think. Can’t currently find anything...
Thanks guys, will go down this route - feeding 1 cricket at a time. Annoyingly (scarily?) the foliage is at the back and you have to slide the whole lid off to get the wooden tweezers in there to extract the crickets...
With regards to the enclosure being too big I’ve had an idea but would...
Hi all,
I got a bit concerned when my G. pulchra disappeared into a hiding spot shortly after being rehomed into what I’ll admit is too big of an enclosure.
However, she (unsexed but ) has recently reappeared, freshly molted and looking beautiful. She’s drinking from her new bowl and has eaten...
b. smithi, caribena versicolor and grammastola pulchra are the three T's I got as slings. Versicolor and pulchra grow quite quickly so don't be afraid to go smaller. Smithi is a very slow grower.
Haha, posting a Billie Eilish video... an artist known for her brilliant use of special/video effects in her music videos. I guarantee you there wasn't a single tarantula or spider in the room with her that day. As for her claiming to put that tarantula in her mouth for real that is just...
I've had 3 slings since I joined the hobby last year. Started with a B smithi about 1cm DLS, then bought a C versicolor the same size and a G pulchra about 1.5cm DLS.
They're all doing well but if your starting with a Brachy or any other slow growing species bear in mind it will be a year or...
1st T is a 1.5cm B. smithi - "Domino" named after the character in the film El Mariachi as Desperado was one of my favorite films growing up and he/she's a mexican T. Current position is hidden in cork burrow in premolt (hasn't left it in about a week as far as we are aware). She had to be...
Hi all, thank you for the C. versi advice. Very much appreciated!
Unfortunately the shop forgot to pack it :( So whilst the G pulchra is safely in its home and the crickets in theirs, the versi won't be joining us until Tuesday. In the meantime I have set up its enclosure and will post a photo...
Thanks for the feedback guys. Bought a set of mobile phone clip on lenses so when the new Ts arrive today (:)) I can see if a wide angle lens covers all three enclosures :) C. versicolor (the T that wanted first but couldn't get hold off anywhere) came back into stock at just the right time so I...
I've only recently got into the hobby but have been on many forums for many different things over the years and this is one of the nicest most helpful forums I've joined. If you are having problems sometimes it's easier to blame everyone else rather than being introspective and looking at the...
I have a B smithi I've named Domino (character in a favorite film trilogy El Mariachi).
Arriving on Friday is a G pulchra which my wife as already named Preto and a Caribena versicolor that is yet to be named. Any ideas for the versicolor much appreciated!
