one tip i can give is give some thought into making sure the housing is escape proof. ideally you want a door/lid that locks automatically as it closes .

pretty much all my T like a smooth flat rock to hang out on. its always a bone dry spot. i pick my rocks off a beach .

and put a flat rock in there too. thatll give it a bone dry surface to sit on . mine like that

i like your original enclosure. as said above just give it time and dont keep opening the lid as it unsettles them. i personally would put in a very small prey with a bit of food for the prey to eat and leave it be . those gbb sometimes take a day to catch their prey is my observation

have any of your T chewed out the roof mesh of their terrarium? i ask because my adult LP has taken to walking on the underside of the metal mesh on her enclosure and loitering near the corners. her enclosure is a Perfecto 3ft [snake?] tank. the mesh on the roof is metal but not sure which...
