    Stressed A.Chalcodes

Not to worry. Tarantulas can take days to settle into a new home. Not really sure if it is an issue but I avoid plants with spines whether real of fake. I really don't know if they can hurt themselves crawling over them. I do glue a large silk leaf onto the sides of the hides. I few of my...

Anything u guys would recommend on netflix?

We are really fans of reality/competition shows but we found a few that even our angsty teenage sons will watch with us as a family: Blown Away: Competition for glass blowers. Weirdly fascinating! Forged in Fire: Blacksmiths making weapons. Knives, swords, axes all made from scratch and then...

    Where to get good enclosure?

I like to use the acrylic display cases. They come in all sorts of sizes for baseballs, footballs, basketballs, dolls, model cars, ect. They are also easily found at craft stores and hobby shops. And being acrylic, you can drill as many ventilation holes where ever you like. I just make sure...

I don't have first hand experience but I am willing to bet that this is a well fed t.

Question about cleaning - PT tarantula

I have nothing to add to the cage cleaning advice here - its all good!! But I will say something about enclosures. I like top opening enclosures for terrestrial tarantulas. When terrestrials bolt, they tend to run along the ground and can run out an open side door. I like side opening...

    Tliltocatl Albopilosum enclosure size?

I would definitely wash the roots of the plant before planting it. If you have already planted it (and do not know id the soil was pesticide free), I would remove it and make sure to remove the potting soil it came with and surrounding substrate just to be safe.

    Tliltocatl Albopilosum enclosure size?

I believe many keepers use the large Faunarium (the deep style, not the flat style) for their tarantulas. It should be fine. In the wild tarantulas do not tend to go very far from their burrows. Just make sure you can give it enough substrate if she wants to dig. I have never tried to put...

    Tliltocatl Albopilosum enclosure size?

Hi A good rule of thumb for a terrestrial enclosure is 3X2 the leg span of the tarantula. So a t that has a leg span of 5 inches would need an enclosure that is 15 inches long by 10 inches wide. The distance between the top of the substrate and the top of the enclosure should be 1.5 times the...

Apparently, C. Versicolors Are Hard To Find Currently!

My first tarantula was ordered from Backwater. No one else had what I wanted and I didn't really know better. She arrived ok but was just shipped loose in deli container with some moist soil. I am surprised she wasn't crushed! (To be clear, the deli container was in a box with a heat pack...

    Arizona blonde for beginners?

They are hardy, easy to care for and tend to hang out in the open more than some of my other ts but be aware that there temperament can vary from individual to individual. Mine is definitely not chill! My first t was a B. hamorii. She is beautiful, generally calm, and usually out in the open...

    My C. Versicolor Died

Ahh... I lost track of the sling being a versicolor. I think the last thing I read was B. smithi and T. albo and my brain stuck on terrestrials. Having reread your post, the abdomen stuck on one side makes me wonder if a previous injury made the molt more difficult.
