Tiger Rump enclosure advice

Hey guys!
So my C. Fasciatum had a neat little nest that he burrowed under a rock that was in his enclosure...he has had it for months. But I noticed about a week ago that it collapsed from him burrowing a bit to far. Since then he hasn't made a new nest he just wanders around and has been webbing his whole enclosure for the past 2 days. I bought him a little shell that is perfect for hom to hide in but if I put it in I will have to put in on his web? Should I rather leave it ? Or do you think its necessary? I will post photos below....

Mine used to hide away down a burrow but as he's grown he's webbed more and stayed above ground preferring to live in web tunnels or on top.
