Yes if you pre kill it stops the worms from burrowing in the tarantulas substrate and slings often enjoy eating worms that have been cut into pieces.. Be sure to remove the leftovers the following day so they don't go bad in the enclosure

I simply cut the head off my mealworms. The head end has a black spot on it & the legs that end.

Cutting the head off gives your slings an easy access point to the soft inner, it also gives you something that is large & easy to find & remove after 24 hours.
