Feeding Springtails

Hey everyone For those who use springtails what do you guys feed them (The colonies that aren't yet in enclosures)?

I feed my springtails with dried yeast & then if the enclosure is a little dry, I then give it a mist, so it activates.

I have a Canadian nightcrawler colony for my pacman frog. They live better in there than they do in the frog enclosure. That just gets whatever leftover bits of vegetables I have laying around. I mix a little brewer's yeast in the substrate for the frog enclosure, but I definitely don't see results like in my worm bin.
