I never did. That's my main reason for another tarantula. I want a female this time so Pierre can have someone to mate with. I doubt it would work though. Haha.

I've seen some pretty amazing enclosures on Google but since I was a newbie and kind of still am ;) I had the guy at the pet store help me set up my enclosure. Now, I want to redo it and this time go all out. Here's a pic of a good enclosure. I really just like the skull. What do you think...

I've seen online pet stores where they sell tarantulas locally and internationally. I personally wouldn't buy one online because I don't know exactly what I'm getting. What if they shipped me a poisonous spider or something? :D I purchased mine from an exotic pet store.

I'm going out of town tomorrow to visit a family member for a couple of days. I've agreed to leave Pierre with my older brother. I'm a little nervous even though I know he'll take care of him. This will be my first time ever being away from my little T for 3 whole days. :(

Wow, that's sad. My red knee is also my first tarantula. They are quite lively and playful. Your cat and dog are horrible for double teaming your red knee like that. :(

I have a spoiled teacup yorkie but I would like to own more pets I want another tarantula and maybe a small snake like a corn snake or something that's low maintenance.

Maybe we should have a contest for the best names? We should start celebrating our T's birthday! ;)

I think the best beginner tarantula would be a chilean rose. Make sure you research first because you don't want to end up with a species that's defense and territorial. You want one that you'll be able to handle gently and one that actually like to be handled.

I know! I'm going to try to record Pierre tomorrow so you guys can see. I want to teach him new tricks but I don't have any ideas? Maybe I could teach him how to moonwalk or something that would be hilarious. Just kidding :)

I have a Mexican Red Knee and he is 16 months. He's a little feisty but I love him because he matches my personality. They are such fun pets to have around! If you've seen my other posts you'd see that I'm in the process of teaching him more tricks but for now we're learning how to shake hands...

Since they don't have any taste buds I sometimes feed him recently killed crickets as a reward. I figured if I could teach my puppy how to shake hands I can teach my spider too! Pierre thinks he's the boss I tried to record him doing it earlier but he didn't do it. I guess he wasn't in the mood...

I love the name Dibella! It sounds like something from Twilight it is unique. I also like the name Wildfire. I still don't know what I'll be naming my next Tarantula maybe something that starts with the letter P.

Hey guys! I am in the process of teaching Pierre (My tarantula) how to shake hands with me. We almost have it down pact and it's the coolest thing! Just wondering, can your tarantula do tricks too?
