Polistes flavus- Yellow paper wasp

the largest north american Polistes species- exceeding 30mm. Golden-yellow with faint markings on the thorax.

I almost thought this was some sort of weird tarantula hawk due to the large size. I may decide to rear some of these in a screen-cage.
