Desert Home

same H. arizonensis (desert scorpion) tank, minus red heat lamp shining through it...
Are they able to be housed together? If so I think I might like to have them, have to be in the new year, (broke at the moment lol) And how large are these? And give me their actual name so I can start gathering info and setting something suitable up for them :p

they are being housed together right now in the tank you see. happy to send them off to you, though by that time they might have reached adult hood. Jema had one successful brood of which I've kept three. Two females and one male :) Their actual name is Hadrurus arizonensis.

Wonderful!
just looked at them and I really like the look of them, Hoping for a tank sale or craigslist sale soon, usually after Christmas they practically give them away, But I can get a big sterilite container for the moment, they have some nice clear ones that would work while I'm tank hunting. From what I'm seeing I can feed them daily is this correct?
Also, what type of substrate do they need, or prefer, and, if possible is there any way to give me an idea of what it would cost to ship them?
(Oh, might help if you knew where lol it's 5:40 and still haven't been to bed yet, apologies if I'm a bit loopy.
I'm in Gordo Al, (just outside of Tuscaloosa) 35466)

Ok so, picked up a couple things to get a start, tank locking cover and first decoration.

You can feed them daily, but they won't always eat. Trust me on that one. They are both pretty much into their winter stage now where they aren't eating more than a meal every 3 weeks or so, but, that's normal so not to worry. As for shipping, I can't see that it would cost more than $15 tops, if that. Although, that isn't with any live arrival guarantee. I'm not a dealer or anything really so I haven't done this before. I will of course make sure they are warm and well fed and secured before I send them off. I love the decorations you've chosen. The skeletal head is awesome :) Although, that one tank might be too small for the two used to being in a tank large enough for each of them to have room to retreat if necessary. :) I think PetSmart is having their dollar a gallon sale end of December early Jan, which we're almost into, so I'd google that or call your local store. They're not going anywhere, so no rush. They're yours whenever you're ready. Cross my heart :)

Do you suppose a twenty long would do them then? All my things stay in my room as to many folks in and out who are 'curious' about my kritters. Don't want them crowded and unhappy but space is an issue. 20L is 30 x 13 x 13 (some are 30x12x12 depending on manufacturer )

EDIT!! Might have a lead on a larger tank from a friend who no longer keeps fish, problem is I have to see it as they said its either a 20 something or a 50, their words not mine rofl :p

@Kymura

I think that would be fine, as long as there are enough hides for them to choose from, and, of course, enough food which Im sure knowing the way you care for your friends won't be an issue :)

Great, I was informed regardless of the size of my friends tank it's mine , just have to buy or make a cover for it. My new tank will house all my smaller enclosures for now, I can put a water jar in there for them so that works , it will eventually house one of my larger T's once they grow. The skull belongs to the scorpions however, also have a column with a gargoyle wrapped around it I'm planning to use.
I adore grotesques and gargoyles and plan on trying to make a desert ruins display. :D

great. let me know when you think it's safe to ship. Weather is warm now, but might cool off considerably in the coming days. I think overnight with FedEx is around $39, three day is a lot less.

Give me a couple days to get the other tank then if we can find a warm few days we can do the 3-day. It's warm mostly where I am was 80 yesterday, so we'll have to consider weather between where you are and I am :p
(of course we had tornado warnings all day, dogs howled every time the siren went off! No worries though I have a tornado room as our main bathroom, rebar reinforced concrete with blast door, crazy how long it took to build but worth it. Anyway, dogs go in one kennel cats in the other tub is mine for my arachnids etc. lol)
