Chi-Chi! =)

Sitting pretty, after a big roach meal.
I'm so happy that I'm able to feed her a consistent supply of large quality feeder Dubia roaches, mealworms, and the occasional cricket. All the pet stores in my area are closing! It's great to have a guy in town who raises beardies and sells feeders, that he's obsessively bred and raised himself. I go through ups and downs in mood, but I'm just proud to own this beautiful T. Seeing her molt and grow has been a pleasure this past year. I had an Aphonopelma Gabeli, which unfortunately died from apparent dyskinetic syndrome last spring. It was a long drawn out death and I did everything I could think of for that T, just as one would for a dog or cat. I'm checking every box with this Pulchripes! I'll never buy anything other than eco earth, as it was the "100% organic" potting soil I bought at a garden center, that I think killed my A. Gabeli. She did fine for a few days after a cage change, dug a burrow, and then soon after, the drunken, spastic symptoms set in. It sucked big time! To me that's an understatement!

When I start my new job in a few weeks, I'll save up some cash for another addition. The G. Pulchripes is my only T right now. I actually want an A. Chalcodes, or an A. Hentzi. They would be space savers. LOL I want an L. Parahybana, I'll just have to clear clear the small entertainment center of the TV I never use to make room. =) Maybe i'll try out raising a Lasiodora from a sling. Chi-Chi seems calm and relaxed at 4 inches in leg span, housed in a small kritter keeper. I provide her with a hide that she never uses. She prefers to sit out in the open now. After her next molt I'll go a size or two up in keepers.

Maybe it's the vodka, but dem legs!!!!!!!!! I could just kiss her. *opens lid* :T: Seriously I've never understood a person that would harm a creature like this without hesitation. I'm going to use this photo to start an oil pastel drawing tomorrow!
