Why is my tarantula hiding so much

That is what they do. Its their nature, especially when young. Just a part of the hobby. Also, the more you disturb it the more likely it is to hide

If you have a look around this, or any other T site, you will find some T's referred to as "Pet Holes." This means you pay X amount of £'s or $'s to look at a hole for months at a time.

Or in some cases there's not even a visible hole, the Idiothele mira makes a trapdoor over it's hole making it impossible to see.

I got lucky and I'm able to look in the hole from the enclosures back side. Otherwise I'd have a t. Albo that I hadn't seen in 6 months

Case in point, my pet hole, leela the curly. (She was being a diva and wouldn't eat her roach ) she made a spacious burrow and only ventures out at night maybe 2x a week
