Do you think she thinks she has made an egg sac from this lovely ball of substrate? She sat on it for a week and now has hauled it down into her burrow? No...she has NEVER met another spider...have had her since a sling - she's 3 years.

Its called fantom egg sack. It happens sometimes.She will probably eat it or leave it at some point.If it is accessible and you feel comfortable can get it off her and get rid of it before it goes bad.

Btw she thinks correctly.It is a egg sack but the eggs are infertile as you never paired her hense its a phantom one. lol

I do feel a little sad for her...she worked very hard removing almost all the substrate(down to the enclosure bottom! about 4' deep by 6x4" wide!) to get ready ....if she comes out from under her hide without it I will snag it..., however, it is nice to know that one of my Ts is for sure a female and hopefully will be with me a long time.
