superworm question

Can I keep these superworms I just picked up (supply issues with mealworms) in cocofiber and just gutload with carrots/etc. placed on top of substrate? Or do I need to keep them in a food source like oats.

If I'm not mistaken, the go-to source for these is corn meal but very fine/crushed. Not sure where to get it in that consistency but you can get regular corn meal at the grocery store.

that's good news since I like to fry things with cornmeal so no trip to the grocery store

I use oats for my meal worms

As do I. I also mix in some dirt and a few slices of potato. I can keep the majority alive for 2-3 months that way.

My super worms were purchased in February, still doing fine in oats. I do replace the oats if they get too moist or begin to show signs of mold. I feed kitchen scraps. Carrot, apple, squash, etc
