P. Metallica that never molts.

I've had an one inch sling since December 2020. During that whole time it has never once molted. Insights? On the other hand my LP, which is a fast grower has molted twice since January 29 of this year.

Your enclosure is way too big. Thats why its behind the back...trying to feel safe and secure.

As for molting...you can't compare tarantula to tarantula. They all molt differently due to environment, food, temperature, age of current growth cycle and species.

I've had some sac mates of the same gender grow faster than others under the same conditions, Sometimes it's just the tarantula.

I keep poecilotheria slings that size in 2x2x4 amac enclosures or pill-jar vials, like this

Set them up with 25-30% substrate, moss and a diagonal cork bark, broad leaf, or similar
