I'm really wanting to get a tarantula, I've got my eyes on a Brachypelma smithi, and I know that dubias are one of the best feeder insects but how many should I have for just one T?

That would depend entirely on the size of the tarantula you buy.

Hello and welcome. I'm guessing you are asking about how many you need to start a colony? For one tarantula, a starter colony of 50 should last forever.
