Hi guys, I'm a beginner at keeping tarantulas and I wanted to ask a question. My B. albicep sling has just molted 3 days ago, I tried to feed it and he keeps refusing it what should I do?

How long do I have to wait until I feed my B. albicep sling?

After a moult I'd give it a week before feeding, it'll take a while to harden up.

I usually wait about 5 days for little slings, and two weeks for larger tarantulas. Sometimes older adults of larger species will take 5-6 weeks before they want to eat again.

Agree with waiting a week...make sure you have water for it. Small water bottle cap or wet moss works well. Dehydration after molting can be a problem.

Just what I was looking for. My Fireleg sling had its first molt on Saturday afternoon. I got to witness it first hand and I'm still amazed. I was wondering how long to hold off on feeding, and this post answered my question. I think I'll attempt to feed it this Saturday, so 1-week after the molt. The enclosure is constantly hydrated, water cap is filled every morning and evening and I also moisten up the substrate to avoid it drying out. Take Care
