Next up is Aphonopelma chalchodes #2. This was was an apparent freebie since I only ordered 1, and apparently i’m the only jerk buying them I guess the seller decided to toss in another. I’m happy with it. Didn’t even have to unwrap this girl all the way, she was kind enough to wander out on her own.
Next up we have Caribena versicolor. This girl was basically the reason I made the order. True to form she pooped as soon as she was unwrapped and proceeded to take a walk around the lid for a while. I have one more to unpack or else I would probably just stare at her the rest of the day. She is beautiful. My camera will never do her justice.
And lastly we have a girl I couldn’t wait to get, Lasidora parahybana. I’ve been looking to replace my MM that hooked out early last year so this one is super exciting for me. Poor girl though has a very big, very bare and very black abdomen, I feel lucky she didn’t molt in transit. To be honest I wasn’t expecting a freebie and was caught with my pants down when there was four vials, and on top of that, for this girl the invoice had a note that read “SIZE UPGRADE” which is another pleasant surprise. However I had to scramble to get a fourth enclosure ready. She was supposed to be 3/4” but is definitely over an inch.
Now to spend the rest of my day actively trying to let these little ladies relax. Will try some food tomorrow when they’ve had a chance to rest.
