Hello friends,

I got an amblypygi about a month ago, it molted almost immediately! (see Picture)
I love it, it is such a unique creature :)
I know the care basics, but was wondering if other arachnid enthusiasts here have more experience with amblypygids, i.e. how to sex them?

Thank you!

Penny

I would refer you to

Breeding the World's Largest Living Arachnid: Amblypygid (Whipspider) Biology, Natural History, and Captive Husbandry
Book by Orin McMonigle

This is a smart feller. I kept three (bought as adult )Damon variegatus, they lived out their lives in my care, for three years or a little more. Big water dish, lots of upright bark, plastic plant cover, and I misted once a week. Adults may or may not cohabitate peacefully, be warned. Different species though, I think?
