    Solpugids!

I did some reading up on them and it seems like they are a bit more difficult to keep. I'm gonna do my best till I either sell them or they kick the bucket...or pass naturally because I got it right

    My first scorpion!

Ok cool, thanks for the advice!

    2 New Additions!

So I found a guy who lives near me that sells Ts. I met up with him and picked up a Eauthalus Sp. Tiger(never even heard of this species before). After my wife saw it she fell in love and wanted one for herself. So we now own two of these beauties! The best part is that I was able to work out a...

    My first scorpion!

Went to the Orange County Pet Expo this past weekend and picked up a giant desert hairy scorpion. I was nervous asking my wife if I could get one but luckily she was all for it! Anyone have experience with this species? I know they don't handle moisture very well as it can kill them. So I...

    Solpugids!

Went on a short hike with my daughter today and found 2 small solpugids under a log together. They're slightly larger than a quarter and one is definitely larger than the other. I'm guessing they're a mating pair because they were only inches from each other. Pretty cool backyard find!

    B. vegans concern

No idea, I just bought her about a month ago and forgot to ask. I'm hoping it's nothing serious. She's a pretty feisty T so there's no chance of me trying to brush it off without her extreme disapproval.

    B. vegans concern

So I noticed these white spots on my B, vegans abdomen in the last week or so. Should I be worried? I mean it's possible that it could be dirt but it almost looks fungal. I don't do any extra spraying in her enclosure...i basically only overflow her water dish. Any ideas??

    New T??

I feel you there! Im working my way up to a P. Irminia...still not quite ready for that one yet

    New T??

I forgot to mention that the only real downside is that are painfully slow growers. My smaller one seems like it's getting ready to molt while the larger isn't showing any signs yet. Which would mean she might only molt once a year...or less :(. Other than that they're great. I've had one kick...

    New T??

I own 2 desert blondes and they're both awesome! The only time my larger one is ever the slightest bit aggressive is when she's in her hide. My smaller one(2.5") almost seems like it likes to be handled. Every time I open its enclosure it climbs right out to explore. I can recommend definitely...

    Molting questions

Hey guys, So I've done a bunch of research on tarantulas in premolt and was hoping someone can help clear things up. I have an aphonopemla chalcodes and an aphonopemla hentzi that both seem ready to burst lol. The only problem is that I've been expecting them to molt for weeks now. I'll attach...

    My Jerusalem Crickets, Stenopelmatus sp.

Bummer...hopefully those eggs hatch and you get some cool patterns out of them!

    New B. Vagans

To be honest she seems to be a finicky eater. I've tried giving her super worms and she won't touch them. I actually tried feeding her a small 1.5“ potato bug I caught at the local park last week and she wouldn't touch it either. I'd like to try roaches but I don't want to buy them and have her...

    New B. Vagans

Thanks for the all the kind words guys! I just wanted to update that she seems to be doing pretty well in her larger enclosure. She's been busy covering EVERYTHING in a layer of webbing(including the entrance to her hide) and seems to have a real liking to large crickets...or maybe she really...

    New B. Vagans

Here's a shot of her for size comparison. I just upsized her enclosure and she did not like it too much...definitely a hair flicker. She came in a shoebox sized container and I just felt like it was a bit too small. I put her it one about double the size. Hopefully she approves once she calms down.
