Smeringurus aridus male

Note how the chelal fingers form a gap at the base- for grasping the female's chelae. female chelal fingers are flush when closed. Easily distinguishable from its sister species- S. vachoni- by the pallid coloration and lack of mottling on the prosoma. Rarely seen.
