So I think regalis, or if you can afford one, metallica or subfusca while still nervous, tend to be more laid-back than ornata. The crazy thing is I don't even think this girl is full size just yet.
Have you kept any Psalmos or Tappys yet? If not I'd recommend going with those first just to get you used to the speed. Pokies are not normally defensive tarantulas, they are much more skittish than anything else and 9 times out of 10 prefer flight over fight. As you may know, Psalmos are actually a lot more defensive and willing to bite than most pokies are. The biggest factor with pokies is their venom, it's very fortunate for us that they are so hesitant to use it. P ornata is considered more high-strung however than the rest, and their venom (based off of all the bite reports I've read) seems a tad more powerful than say regalis. So I think regalis, or if you can afford one, metallica or subfusca while still nervous, tend to be more laid-back than ornata. The crazy thing is I don't even think this girl is full size just yet. She's about 8 or so inches in legspan, so she could be, but seeing as these can sometimes exceed 9 inches, she could potentially get a lil bigger. Sent from my LG-K428 using Tapatalk
