Update: got home from work and she’s molted successfully! She’s seemingly doing well but she’s SO thin. I’m really hoping she’ll have a good appetite once she hardens up
I’ll take a picture today of her full enclosure and get a better pic of her abdomen as well.
I have a suction cup water dish up high where she typically stays. I keep that full but I mist the side/part of her web a little once a week. I’ve tried sm and med dubia, silkworms, horned worms cut in...
So I’ve had my pink toe BB for about 2 months. She was always pretty slow moving and small. I’m not sure when her last molt was, I got her at a local pet store. The entire 2 months I’ve only seen her eat 2 medium dubia roaches on 2 separate occasions. I’ve tried different feeders, different...
So I keep my T’s in a medium size walk in closet with a fan for airflow and they’ve been doing well so far. I noticed it’s been kinda cold in there so I bought a small portable heater to put in there to keep temps consistent, put it on the lowest setting last night and it’s faced away from the...
Lmao definitely quirky! I only have 6 T’s atm and while I haven’t had them terribly long it’s incredible to see how they each have their own sort
lmao definitely quirky! Currently I only have 5 T’s and while I haven’t had them terribly long it’s incredibly fascinating to see how different they...
Caught my Chaco upside down trying to chew on her enclosure the other night lmao at first I thought she’d gotten stuck somehow but realized she’s just being a sneak
I’ve read that some T’s have a tendency to be escape artists, so far she’s the only one that’s shown any behavior of wanting out...
Went to a a few shops the other day that breed T’s and picked up an unsexed Tliltocatl Vagens sling. All of my other T’s are established juvies so this will be my first spiderling and I’m so excited to watch it grow! I was told it’s about 1 molt away from a rehouse, it’s currently got about a...
A fear of mine as well! I got haired by my curly (was wearing gloves but short sleeves) and it got me in the ditch of my arm. It was miserable for a few days. Pretty sure I may be more sensitive so now I just suit up when I’m doing anything that requires more than watering. Long sleeves, gloves...
It’s been a couple of days and it looks like part of the exuvia is still attached to her abdomen. Should I increase the humidity to help or just wait and keep an eye on her? I haven’t attempted feeding, just topping off water.
Update: She’s molted. She’s been in her hide but I was able to retrieve her exoskeleton and pin it to dry. My plan is to create an art piece with each molt as she ages cause I’m weird.
Woke up this morning to find my B. Hamorii like this. It looks like she’s molting upright instead of on her back and I can’t tell if she’s alright. I haven’t touched her or anything so I’ll check on her again later today but should I be worried??
But maybe not! Today I picked up 2 new additions they were on sale, both in improper conditions and I couldn’t help myself
Chaco Golden Knee (unsure of gender, they couldn’t tell me) about a 3.5” DSL seems pretty healthy and active. Relatively chill, though she kicked a little once she...
Yeah, she stays up at the top at least 95% of the time lol lost a mealworm when I tried that and had to dig it out. I haven’t seen red runners at any local shops but I’ll see if I can get some of those instead. I’m concerned her enclosure may be too large to ensure she’d catch it but I could be...
