As an update it started building a little web hammock and then disappeared completely, but I found it this morning--it made a burrow inside the bigger chola stick. :) My wife noticed the webbing in one of the holes!

Eresus sp. Blue Infini and GBB slings arrived safe. The GBB vial is temporary--I have a 6" cube coming tomorrow, it just got delayed. Should be safe today if not thrilled. Just a bit of Terra Arcana and a leaf. I'll be putting the Sidi in a TC sling enclosure, with just a touch of coco fiber...

I actually assumed the story was more geographically universal, such as C.S. Lewis and Ronald Dahl books are in the US. But it sounds like not! Try to find the cartoon from the 70s online--it's a classic Hanna-Barbera cartoon, with music by the guys who wrote most of the early Disney songs.
