I would go with the larger enclosure, otherwise, you might need to re-home after the next molt. As for heating pads, don't place them directly against the enclosure.
She definitely is a fast one. I've already rehoused her and almost lost her in the process. In my research before I got her I read about them being fast, but I was not prepared for how fast. Other than the speed issues I absolutely adore her.
