    New species

Unless I'm mistaken, Mexico doesn't allow export. That, and the fact that these spiders are restricted to a cave system probably means you might never see them in the hobby. That's my guess anyway, but I'm certainly no expert.

Looking For a Good Looking Enclosure For Cheap-ish

https://www.containerstore.com/s/closet/shoe-storage/bins-boxes/mens-shoe-box/123d?productId=11003529 Or my local pet store sells these for about $15. I've been thinking about picking up a couple myself...

They look almost like a P. irminia and A. avic had a few too many drinks one night.

    New T & I haven't been on here in a while

Thanks, guys. I'm excited to see the little guy grow. I'm not one of those people that just loves every blue spider out there. And, honestly, I like some of the other poeci's just as much as the metallica. So, I should probably collect them all! ;) So far I only have P. regalis and P. metallica...

    New T & I haven't been on here in a while

Just got a new T, and it reminded me I haven't visited this forum in months. New T Story: My lovely wife and thoughtful daughter got me a B. smithi sling last December (2015) for my birthday. After a few molts I began to suspect something was fishy. My little smithi turned into a B. vagans...

I want one of these! :D

We have spiny orb weavers in Alabama. Maybe not that exact species, or subspecies, but I see them in the woods all the time. Most of the ones I recall are black and white.

    Deadly Tarantula Girl Videos

I have a roku and no cable, so I spend a lot of time browsing youtube on my TV. I'm subscribed to deadly tarantula girl. I was scrolling through and one of her videos... eh hem... caught my eye. She has some interesting videos. I watch them sometimes, among some of the others that have already...

    US Repticon, rate this expo/show?

It depends on the city. They have shows all over the country. Some of them draw a lot more vendors than others. But, I usually go even when they come to my smallish city. It's not huge, but it's worth going to see what's there. I don't think I've ever been to one that didn't have at least one...

    Preparing for Bearded Dragon.

They're great pets, but like others said, be prepared for a LOT of feeding. They slow down when they reach adulthood, but a juvenile can easily eat 20-60 prey items a day. I started my first dubia colony after getting my first BD. Sometimes I think I'd like to have a beardie again, but I don't...

    My tarantula is very small!

What sort of feeding schedule do you have it on?

What was your first Tarantula ever?

I'm pretty sure I've told this story here before, but I got my first T sometime around 1987. I was about 11 years old and had always had a fascination with reptiles which I caught regularly back then. When I found a mature B. smithi in a local pet store I had to have it. They were common and...

The P. regalis molted recently and has been out and about.

    Eminart's Photos of Stuff Thread

I haven't done one of these over here, so I thought I'd start a photo thread. I had the camera out for a few minutes to capture my freshly molted G. pulchra. I've had her almost a year now, and she's grown to 3+ inches.

What T are you waiting to own?

I wouldn't say I'm WAITING for any. I'd say I'm financially unable to achieve all of my dreams at this time. I don't really even know which species is tops on my want list right now. Maybe a P. metallica.

    dubia roach colony questions

I give fruits and veggies which takes care of the water, and I feed a dry food - usually baby chick starter mash. I also sometimes add dog food, cereal, bread, or just whatever is laying around. The last time I went to a reptile show, my daughter, wife, and me all got bags with tons of trial...
