30" x 12". My Arizona Blond has never attempted to climb, so therefore I did not increase the depth of the soil.

    Handling your tarantula

I handle my Desert Blonde regularly. She seems to like the warmth of my hand. Does not stress her for sure. She is always chill

What is your favorite species of tarantula?

I love my Arizona Blonde. I recommend the Female. They live really long. They grow sloooowwwly. Mine is (I understand) at least 3 years old and is like 2 1/2 inches. I have her 4+ months. She had a big roach before I got her and has not eaten yet. This species is like that. I was...

    Not Eating bc of Winter

Thanks all. I get it. Better to ask questions than winding up with a dead spider. I really enjoy her,

    Gentle handling

I handle my Blonde but very carefully. Never a chance of dropping her. Once she is on my hand she will just sit there for an hour if you let her. When I put her back in her enclosure she really does not want to crawl off my hand. I suspect the warmth of my hand has something to do with it...

    Juvenile Redleg Died

Really just stopped eating. Last couple days his legs worked overtime just moving around. He still looked great. I was very sad. Couple days ago I picked up a 2+ year old Desert Blonde Female for $50. What a sweetheart she is!! Life goes on.

    Amount of Food

My Redleg is an adolescent. The roaches I have are almost as big as the abdomen. Is one a week enough. Also my adolescent pinktoe just will not eat. He is not in premolt, does not web but otherwise seems healthy. I have tried to feen him using a tweezer and also put him in a small...

    Change in behavior

Mine changed personality after molting. Became more timid. Did not want to b e handled. Now it willingly climbs on my hand and must be forcibly removed when I put him back. Mex. Redleg.

    Guyana Pinktoe not Webbing

Thank-you octane junkie. Obviously handling him is a definite no-no. I have a rednee and I have him sit on my hand several times per week..I know..I know. He willingly climbs on my hand and then will sit on it until I get tired of holding him. I am over cautious of him falling. I carry him...
