Bleeding abdomen, what do I do?

Another update. Had few options and ended up calling the local shop I bought all but one of my Ts from (this stirmi is from there) to ask about emergency care and what advice they might have that I might have not seen online. We talked and one of the staff members said it sounded less like a...

Bleeding abdomen, what do I do?

Update: Behavior still hasn’t changed at all. I followed advice on some other forums/sources and applied corn starch which was a nightmare, she fought me the whole way. Her water dish is nasty because she pooped so much in it that it’s actually foggy but I can’t take it out… she’ll kick again if...

Bleeding abdomen, what do I do?

Hi so I’m kind of freaking out here. My stirmi, who I posted about a bit ago giving me a scare thinking she was going to die but was just doing weird tarantula things, is bleeding. I’ll fully admit I didn’t catch it because I thought it was poop. I saw it on her underside, gob of that...

    Is my stirmi ok?

Thank you. I’m thinking after she molts and is in a less stressful situation I should add a second hide. She has a pretty good one that she used frequently for a while, but then she webbed up the hide entrance from the outside and hasn’t touched it since, also pulls the plant over over it...

    Is my stirmi ok?

So my stirmi is in a state right now and I’m really worried about her. I’m not sure if I should ICU. She’s quite the renovator and drags things around her enclosure all the time, which resulted in her pulling a plant cover down and blocking her hide, which I had to fix. She entered premolt a...

    What T to get next?

Hey all! So I’m planning to get a fourth T soon. The 3 I currently have are not the only Ts I’ve ever had, there have been others that are sadly no longer with us. I’m open to suggestions for most kinds of Ts, though I am a bit turned off by the dwarf species—many are beautiful, but since my...

Just rehoused my first OW today!

I’ve heard so many horror stories I was absolutely terrified to rehouse my first old world. I’m happy to report that both the T and I are safe! It went into hiding almost immediately and I don’t want to bother it, so here’s the only decent picture I have… a heavily edited one of it in the...

    Weird quirks your tarantulas have

Oh man, I understand that. My emilia is the same way! His abdomen is looking concerningly small right now but he’ll spend six hours standing directly on top of a worm and not even think about eating it once. I know spiders know how to spider but god does it cause concern anyway.

    Weird quirks your tarantulas have

I just got thinking about this while “resetting” my t. stirmi again, what other people’s spiders do things that there isn’t really a good explanation for other than “they’re just weird”. I’ll go first, my example when I mean “resetting” my stirmi: my t. stirmi, over the hours of the day, slowly...

    Underrated Ts

What are some tarantulas you think don’t get enough love? I’ve seen so many of the same Ts online when talking about beauty or temperament, I’d like to see some Ts no one really talks about. Me personally, I’ll put my vote in for a. purpurea any day of the week. It gets overshadowed by the...

T stirmi tips, advice, and personal experiences

Hello! I’m a bit new here and kind of nervous haha, I came from arachnoboards but found the environment there too unfriendly and was recommended here instead. I’m a keeper who’s been going for a few years now, been religiously into tarantulas and everything about them until I got into actually...
